Love It or Hate It, Instagram Hits Google Play

Instagram has long been one of the most popular photo sharing and altering apps for iOS. Amateur photographers and social butterflies alike who use Android can finally install Instagram on their own devices as of this morning. While similar photo manipulation apps have been on Android for as long as most users can remember (see Pixlr-o-Matic,PhotoFunia, etc.), Instagram is unique among the crowd because of its focus on integration in social media. It’s easy to share your pictures to Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram’s inbuilt social network.

Upon installation, Instagram asks new users to register for an account.  You can import friends from Facebook, Twitter and your Google contacts who use Instagram to your account automatically, as well as your profile picture. Once that is complete, Instagram presents you with a few users you might like to follow and then you’re free to take and post all the images you want.

While this DOES mean Android users are likely to see a lot more amateur photographs with hipster filters aplenty, some may consider that a good thing. If your social network feed already gets spammed with cats, is it such a bad thing that they’ll now be surrounded with a frame and layered with a sepia filter? If you’d like to give Instagram a shot yourself you can find it on Google Play. Be sure to check out this thread to discuss your findings!

Writer Vs Editor : What the Difference?

Hi welcome back to the Chaoskp69 posterous blog.Today I wanna share with u all about the difference between the writer and the editor. As we know the writers develop and research original written material, while editors guide, review and revise content. Writers and editors usually require at least a bachelor's degree. Suitable degree programs include English, journalism and communications; however, individuals with exceptionalwriting skills may also be hired, particularly if they have specialized experience in the subject they're writing about.

What Do Writers Do?

Writers are behind all the text for books, periodicals, promotions and online publications including blogs, informational websites and online newspapers. Writers also create the stories and dialog for video games, movies, television shows and scripted radio broadcasts.

To make their writing accurate and believable, writers and authors conduct original research through a variety of methods depending on their genre of writing. For example, fiction writers may use personal observation to research personal interactions, while nonfiction writers typically conduct interviews and research historical books and texts.

Types of Writer

Freelance writers are self-employed writers who sell their work to multiple publications, TV producers, advertising agencies and news organizations under contracts for single projects or recurring assignments. Scriptwriters produce materials for radio, TV, video games and movies; scriptwriters who specialize in movies are screenwriters. Biographers, novelists, songwriters and playwrights are also typically freelance.

Staff writers are typically employees, often of organizations in the media and publishing industries where they might be known as reporters, news analysts, or correspondents. Copywriters, who prepare advertising and promotional text, may be employed by an ad agency or corporation's marketing department, or they may be freelancers who work on marketing projects for several clients.

What Do Editors Do?

Editors oversee a publication and its writers. Personnel matters that editors may be responsible for include providing writers with assignments, giving writers feedback on their work and hiring editorial assistants, interns and fact checkers. To manage a book, magazine, journal or other publication, editors plan the content, decide what materials will be used and, in fiction works, review storylines. Editors may also annotate drafts for revision to ensure that grammatical and factual errors are not in the final product.

Types of Editor

Major newspapers and magazines have executive editors, managing editors, assignment editors, assistant editors and copy editors, with increasingly narrow duties. Executive editors supervise offices and determine the content of the publication. Managing editors oversee the daily operations of a particular department or newspaper section, like news or arts. Assignment editors determine which writers cover which stories. Copy editors handle grammatical errors and correct readability issues, as well as confirm that articles meet requirements outlined in editorial policies.

What's the Difference in Salaries for Writers and Editors?

Salaries for writers and editors vary and depend on a number of factors, including the industry and experience. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), in May 2009 writers earned a median annual wage of $53,900 while editors earned a median annual wage of $50,800 (www.bls.gov). In December 2010,PayScale.com reported the highest wages for writers working in the publishing industry, while the highest reported wages for editors were in the magazine industry. It clearly the writer will be earn more than the editor.
